So bit of rear blind action today, well get the clips in

F**ked it up so i'm pretty pleased with it, headline split abit more than i'd cut it when fitting the clip. Hacked off just a touch. I've done it before on my old sport and Oz's car!

I also changed the rear screen also as the car that provided the alarm also had a nice OE screen with ALL the heated elements working! Plus a few bits of interior back in seat belts and a doorcard.
2moro a man is coming to take a very small/shallow dent out of the passenger door. I hope he can do it, or i'll have to get the door repainted later on

it's coming along very very nicely
the clips for the blind had me sweating when i cut them out, and when i was 'feeling' for the square piece I almost cut out the wrong bit
it doesnt look too bad though Si, certainly not bad enough to change the lining ,

Why not just pierce with a tool or punch a circle out. Any straight cut could 'open.'

Err, cut a circle in it! Then there's no 'open-ended' incision and it can't spread.
S'all good.
S'all good.

Simon, after all the suffering you have gone through to get to this point i myself would change the lining, ask yourself if you will ever be able to get into the car and not have this bugging you?
Even if you dont do it right now it would be on my 'list of things to do'.
Either way i feel for you on this one...

how come these things dont happen when fitting parts to your £300 turd just because you have them lying around, its always the car you want to make a minter of and always with a difficult to locate/fit part.
No longer self employed but still available for welding duties.

I slept on it and everytime i thought about it today, its f**kin annoyed me. So its all coming out. Not a problem until we come to fit the blind on the second headline! lol
I'll be really good at it and sunroof mechs now haha!
Dent man came out today and sorted it no sweat, £60. He said the car was really really straight and its one of the best paint/bodywork jobs he has seen. I was like
As you can understand i don't have a picture of before but i now have a passenger door i can fully build up. Which i did tonight, but strangely the central locking doesn't work on the key from this door. I'll have to sort this also, plus the doorcard i have i'm not 100% keen on so plenty to be getting on with each night. I've broke my little camera also yesterday

Not bad tbh, reseting the motor can cause some people pain. This very car had been messed about with before i bought it as when retracting it used to stop 3 times as the motor was out of sync.
If you take it out and don't have to wait over a year before you refit it all that helps your memory no end. I struggled here and i even had the job of being able to look at the pina touring to see how it all went together!

when the bodyshop painted my car, they painted the sunroof seperatly with the skirts and bumpers.
they refitted the bumpers etc, but the sunroof had some paint bleed in it so it had to be re-done, but i had already picked the car up. and so i ended up re-fitting the sunroof at home myself.
trouble was, i hadn't removed it, and wasn't sure how it all went back together
there was some swearing that afternoon. !

Some things are ment to test you tonight has been this!

Passenger door i built up the other night only to take it all off again as the central locking isn't working on the key from this side! lol

There was a small dent here monday near the door handle, not anymore

Cruise actuator and loom through the bulkhead. Seems mad i know but try poking these looms through with the servo bolted in and even without the engine in its a drama that can be avoided!

hole saw out again! This is for the Air con loom to plug into the fuse box

Loom through and me in tears after an hour of pissing about. I can't get these sodding wires to clip in!!! 2 run into the rows of fuses, and the other 3 plug into holes to activate the vacant relay slots. I need help here. Not fun

All the rubbing strips on this side now, wing mirror and weather strips both sides of the door.

See this grommet? well i need one of these thats made to go through the rubber section on the bulk head, below the fuse box where all your wires go. The type thats fitted to seal your OBC or cruise control looms. I can't find one on RealOEM on its own

Also anyone a part number for this? It clips the brake pad warning wire to the handbrake cable on the rear. I need another 2. They're always missing on breaker cars and again cant find it on RealOEM
Going back to the A/C theme

Air con heater box

A/C box and a Climate control box

Finally a standard box with the A/C and climate.
Now onto my point, we as you can see from the pictures of them they are all clearly different on this side on the matrix. I was hoping to combine my A/C and climate together to have a really nice option on this car. Its not going to happen. So i need to choose one or the other. No A/C in a black car with black leathers is asking for trouble. Shame as climate/Air con together was offered as a factory option
I need a carpet i thought i had found a good one. But i was told the next day its not forsale now. I'm waiting for parts to come in, people to pay money they owe me and i've got the dog with it all tonight, i just wish it was done. we have to work our way through these slumps

Chin up Si!
Sorry about the carpet but it escaped my mind that the 316 has a pikey carpet.

your climate control heater box has allready got air con built in to it the other 2 look like standard heater boxes as there are no recirculation flaps on the top unless you have the after market air con boxes as there are no pipes for the evaporator either .
the climate control box will fit in your bulk head it just takes up all the space and the heater pipes just fit through the normal gromits .
and there is a plate behind the battery tray for the ac pipe work
hope this makes sence. danny

Did you get sorted with that grommet to fit the cable through to the fuse box? The one you have a pic of sat on that paper pad looks very similar to the ones which the ABS sensor wires go through into the body shell at the back end near the trailing arm.
