Awesome Wells.
Great topic! At the beginning, there is a very interesting story about the car and its tuning in the 80s and 90s, and at the end, the impressive result of the work carried out on its restoration. Although, the condition of her body was already quite good - I have something to compare it with)))
By the way, I see an additional tank in your photos. I also bought myself such a thing, but I cannot dare to install it, because I am not sure how to do it correctly. Maybe you can tell me or share a photo of its fastening, because I don't have them on the body, and I need to make them and weld them in the right places. And even more interesting is how the ventilation hose is laid from this tank to the filler neck. I will be sincerely grateful for your help.

It doesn’t mater how you look at this work of art, it is practically a brand new M3, and I am as envious a f- - k, congratulations Barry.
Born on the 23 April 1990 320i Alpinweiss ll kabriolett! (SOLD BUT NOT FORGOTTEN !)

The summer months have seen steady progress with the M3 in, usually on a Sunday afternoon in the peace and quiet of out storage unit between work, family life, and a trip across the pond to the big apple and to visit family in Ontario.

Throttle bodies assembled, adjusted and refitted back onto the engine. All new power steering hoses, engine oil cooler hoses and engine loom routed. This allowed the engine to be cranked over with the spark plug out to build up oil pressure in the engine before first start.

Intake plenum fitted and the start of the cooling system.

Engine bay complete with all remaining components fitted. The throttle body tamper proof caps left off to allow for any adjustments required during the initial running in period.

A new chrome tipped rear silencer as used on the Cecotto and Ravaglia models.

The end result of the underside.

Barry why are the brackets for the power steering reservoir and the ignition coil gold passivate?? Surely they were silver steel from new

PAS reservoir brackets were gold pasivate from new, but you are right the coil one was not on UK cars.
SA cars the coil one was as well and they look better in my opinion plus it gives an added layer of protection.

Thanks guys!

.... a photographer came to shoot the car for this months BMWCC magazine Straight Six.
That pretty much wraps it up for me as the car is now sold and in storage for the winter.
