New to the forum, basically I’m buying a 1988 e30 318i coupe next week which is really clean with the view to having it as a project. The shell is solid so I’m going to do the mtech2 kit and all cosmetics last aiming to getting the mechanical side of things done first and by a bit of YouTube watching the s54 seems to catch my eye and heard it’s a tasty mod as a high reving 6 pot in a light she’ll go hand in hand together. My question is would I need to buy the motor and running gear complete with all auxiliary bits as I’ve heard s54 with a running gear from e36 m3 5 speed is preferred just don’t want to buy wrong bits if I don’t need to.
Any help would be appreciated
