Thanks again for all the kind words :o:
I'm glad somebody is getting some enjoyment out of this work :D
Apologies for taking so long to reply, been a hectic week.

Hellbound
It's 2am and I'm reading this instead of watching porn...

laughed alot when I read this, compliments don't come much finer.

dano0
are you painting it now or are you still sending it off to be easy baked ?

as you've probably read by now shell's on gas mark 5
as we speak.

Nay
I'm beginning to contemplate offering to make a custom website
for your car and its build

Cheers mate, delighted you think so much of the build.
I started a website years ago and then never bothered writing
up the last few builds. Will have to get the finger out and update
it once this build eventually finishes.

ROC
Not trying to be a boring sod but you do know how toxic 2 pack paint
is without a properly filtered booth/air fed mask?

have you not seen the extensive lengths we've gone to
with the extraction system? Joking aside, I didn't bother going
in to detail about the poisonous effects of 2 pack paint as to the
best of my knowledge it's no longer available to buy. I think it's
been phased out by non toxic water based paint?

Morat
I bet white is starting to look like a tempting colour at this point

primer grey is looking good about now!

shazE30
I hope all goes well and the standard of the top-coat is to your
satisfaction because from your devotion and commitment to the project
you seem like the type who could murder someone, I know I would

the next update should either have pictures of a fully
painted car or newspaper clippings of the crime scene.

Nay
So whats the ETA on the top coat?

I've told the painter thats there's no rush on it, it's
ready when he's happy with it. We've dropped off the shell
and when thats done we've to go collect it and then bring him
the individual panels. So maybe a month give or take a week till
she's sitting home fully painted. Will try and figure out how to
stick up a pic or 2 as soon
as she's done.

Evening all,
No big load of verbal diaorea this post, will let the pic's do the
talking. All the bits are back from paint and although it makes no
sense what so ever to assemble it now, as theres still a load of
work to do on the bare shell, I'm not waiting another 5 months
to get a look at this thing together. It's been about 13/14 months of body
preperation getting this thing to paint and the big question was
always going to be, was it worth it?
.

.
.
In a word,
Yes

blatently need a hats off smiley right about now!

Incredible work on the car and its great to see that the car is going to be virtually concours when done!

Is this a route you want to go down with it, i.e the bodies mint, so the engine, interior, etc have to follow suit?

Ain't that gonna make you sweat...

I'd be suicidal if I scratched that - especially after all the effort you put in making the body perfect before the spraying.

x-works the problem with putting in the real hard work is when it comes time to taking some pics its damn near impossible to show how good the body work is... Hens all the photos with reflections in them.

Hats off to you mate congratulations car looks sweet.

I agree with everything that has been said, it is a testament to the man's patience and high standard's.

Mike Jermyn is bang on, you cannot appreciate the quality reproduced by photo's, I bet he got through a load of those tack rags as well!

In a different life I used to restore old sportscars and can appreciate the dedication to detail that he has had to put in. An awesome job, but he hasn't finished yet!

Keep going son! Keep the faith.

As we have seen, the hard work is in the preparation, the 'painting' is miniscule in comparison and is only as good as whats underneath

Jesus! gettin a bit of a crowd in here now. 8O
Again, thanks all for the kind words folks :o:
Still a good way to go yet, got to make sure
the inside's live up to the outside to do the
job right I suppose. Still, it's nice to be finally
finished the bodywork, no more coughing
up filler dust, but on the downside no more
getting high from thinner fumes either.

No reason why you can't have the odd sniff of thinners. :D

Just don't get too high and damage that beautiful paint...
