Music and Gigs

Used to go to a lot of gigs in the past worked in the industry got lot of freebies but got bored and lazy miss the Jools Holland days though free piss up and close to home but hey ho good times end. Sigh!!!

Anyways late last year scouting around found this guy doing a gig at the Albert Hall, always a great gig place, not many tickets left so ended up in the "restricted" view seats and at £36 for two tickets including handling CC fees etc knob polishing it wasn't too bad for a night out in London not too far from home.

Saw him earlier this year, absolutely amazing and I wish him success in the future so am spreading the word.

You have you guys seen this year?

When I lived in Amsterdam I went to loads of gigs and quite often got vip tickets due to my work. I met a lot of my heroes thanks to this. Since moving back to the UK I haven't seen any shows at all due to living in the cultural desert that is Somerset

.
I was introduced to Michael Kiwanuka's music a couple of years ago and love the Home Again album, haven't heard any of his recent stuff yet.

Cool, he is good and need to release more music, took the girlfriend last year to the Bush Empire to see Marc Almond she had never seen or heard much of his stuff but absolutely loved it.

Same venue where I took my youngest to see the Fun Loving Criminals.

I think Soft Cell are doing a one-off reunion tour soon (if it hasn't already happened. I'd like to catch that if they come local to me. By local I mean Bristol which is 50 odd miles

I wa there "last" gig at the Hammersmith Palais many years ago and the "one off shows" at the Hackney Empire also years back.

One person who I always wanted to see live but never got around to seeing was Bowie.

Bowie was on my list as well but obviously that's not going to happen now, although I did see a pretty convincing tribute act earlier this year!

Glenn Gregory does a Bowie tribute?? It was some guy calling himself the Bowie experience. Kind of looked like him and sounded pretty good.

Gelnn Gregory, Tony Visconti and the original drummer Woody Woodmansey from the Spiders from Mars era. Mick Garson also played on keyboards, the girlfriend thought it would be rubbish as she had seen Bowie live but she loved it, they did the Man who Sold the Workd set list.

Are you anywhere near to Leamington or Salisbury?
