The Grenfell report came out today and it seems that it`s main "aim" was to put the "blame" /emphasis on the London Fire Service and away from what should have been in place many, many years ago.
Some of you guy`s may live in the area so your thoughts are very relative.
No matter where you live, talk to me please?
Mart.
I was a fireman in the West Yorkshire Fire Service many years ago and will keep quiet.
Feelings please

Well the way I look at it wrongly or rightly is, I don't think there having a go at the fire fighters or heroes on the ground who as usual did the BEST job they could possible do given what was in front of them at the time. I think it was more aimed at the guys at the top of the brigade running the job on the night. The top and bottom of that awful disaster was the cladding that should never been on the building in the first place. The only thing is did the cladding pass building regs at the time of insterlation or did the building contractor use cheap inferior cladding to save money,if so they should be held accountable and heads should roll !

how they can lay the blame at the feet of the fire brigade is beyond me, it really is,
folk are blaming the tory party saying it was them that caused the fire,
the biggest flaw in that argument is the fact that the council who signed off on the cladding when it was fitted was a labour council & from what i can gather has been labour for a very long time.
the blame should be laid at the feet of the person who had the dodgy fridge that started the fire, but surprise surprise no one seems to know who it was.
the fire fighters who attended did the best job they could at the time, how many of those involved in the inquiry would have the balls to do what those fire fighters did/do??
they know who to blame for this but won't do for some unfathomable reason.

We have to remember this is the first part of the inquiry, the second part is next year when their going to be going on about the cladding and other contributing factors of the fire.

The inquiry found that the resident of No 16 on the forth floor bore no blame for the fire which was found to have started in a faulty Whirlpool fridge freezer in the flat.

Lived on Bramley Road for about 11 years and the Grenfell was behind the Pig and Whistle where I would drink sometimes and one of the punters who died was a resident.
Lots of dubious stuff going on in that block that the press won't post about but there was a hell of a lot of subletting going on and I do now few of the firefighters from Kensington North.
