f anyone is on the look out for a new torque wrench then have a look in aldi on thursday.

there selling a 1/2" drive with 3 sockets (17/19/21") & short wobble bar for £16,

might not be the best but i'm sure it would come in handy.i had one a couple of years ago & it lasted well putting up with some right abuse.

if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

very true, i've had countless tools from aldi/lidl & they've lasted a lot lonnger than ones i've bought from the likes of machine mart, most of my air tools have come from both aldi/lidl & are still in use (just look a little rough).

they're also doing ratchets & socket sets, in 1/4, 3/8 & 1/2inch for about £10,
also sometimes you can find hard to find little hand tools in there when you are struggling to find them elsewhere.

i think i've got the same set somewhere in the shed, had quite a few tools from there over the years, never had any problems with them.

Ad states:
•Turnable grip for torque adjustment (0-2-4-6-8-10-12)
•Torque range 40-210 Nm (approx.)

So what do the first range of numbers mean, do they correspond to particular torque figures or just relate to the tool itself?

I may be wrong but they could be the imperial values of foot/pounds ?

Normally you have certain torque values shown as numbers then the handle numbers show the increments in between. For example, the lowest setting is 40 so you set the torque to 40 and the handle number will be 0 then 2 on the handle is 42 until you get to 52 (40+12), then 54 will be 0 on the handle and so on. Hope ive explained clearly.
