I was just wondering if any of you guys are members of the National Trust ?
Me and her indoors went to Fountains Abbey yesterday (North Yorkshire) and spent two hours walking around the place which is very large. For me it was a massive milestone after having a hip job just @ six months ago and remembering the last time we were there 18 months ago and only got a quater of the way around the place.
Any way, we pay £9.60 a month (for the two of us) and can visit any place that is run by the trust in Wales and Scotland as well as often as we like. Yesterday would have cost £33.00 and being a proper Yorkshire lad I would have declined to pay at the gate.lol
Half of Fountains Abbey is nearly 1000 years old and for me it`s very important to keep our heritage and I belive the Trust is a big part in doing that.
So what are your thoughts on this and also what have you on your dooorstep?

never been a member of the national trust but i have thought about joining a few times,

whats on the doorstep? well, there's chatsworth house, hardwick hall, the dukeries (part of the chatsworth estate) & not forgetting sherwood forest (step out the house & it's right next to me) down the road we've got nottingham castle where the king raised his standard at the start of the civil war (it's now a tennis court for the castle), where i grew up in calverton there's the home of rev William lee inventor of the first stocking loom (reason for the rise of the luddites),

i don't know if it's anything to do with the N/T but one of my favourite sites is crowland abbey where cromwell first raised his standard in the civil war & the trinity bridge both in crowland south holland,

had a look on the N/T & there's a few sites i'd like to visit this year if i get the chance, & by the sounds of it it could be cheaper if i was a member (might have a look into that).
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.
getting oral sex off an ugly person is like rock climbing.....don't look down ;)

My mrs and I signed up after visiting Brownsea Island when she lived in Poole. I have Canons Ashby, Stow and Upton house very near by.. I'm hoping in the summer we can take the E30 out for many more and maybe do some weekends away.

It is soooooo much cheaper being a member and think about this..........we go to places where we would not pay to go in but go in for free as many times as we like .

I have membership, haven’t used it in years. Being in Germany makes things a little more difficult but your money is going to a good cause. Maintaining buildings of national importance is like e30 ownership. Ruinous! :)
The Internet - It has proven to be worthless, and is nothing but a repository for perverts.
