I know that in the past forum members have posted up their road trips across Europe and I was thinking about the Italian lakes as it the past wanted to take the Lotus but in three years it never happened, was thinking of getting a Lotus or Caterham to do it in but then realised why, I can take the E30, any pointers or ideas as I will travel on my own or meet people along the way who need lift part way.

Road trip with a P38 RR.
Get in with family, all excited, proceed on trip.
Breakdown 1 mile from home.
Phone RAC for recovery.
Return home dejected, hoping next road trip to manage 2 miles.

X5 V8 for thrills, CRV for chills, Range Rover P38 V8 for sooooo much aggravation...

well i'm planning a road trip of sorts next year,
the evo triangle in wales & a trip to electric mountain, & maybe devils bridge, then later a solo trip along the roads used for the buttertubs run, i might even tackle blue bank at sleights & that other great big hill just between there & fillingdales (can't remember its name) along the A169 white way heads near goathland,
few other places i want to visit next year as well.

NC500 is a great route but if you are not camping or in a campervan, it’s not cheap. If you can do it in May, that’s your best best for quiet roads and good weather.
I did it over 4 days, the driving is tiring because it’s mostly twisty single track until you get to the East coast.
