Never too old !!
Moderator: martauto
I have been looking for another job for a week or two now and yesterday have been offered a job which pays more and not the silly pressure that I was under. It pays more and the drive there is mostly in the countryside and is in the system I know best, Heidenhain.
They are shipping out the older guys where I am now but will be left with button pusshers with little or no experience just so they can run the place 24/7 until the shit hits the fan with no body good enough left to help out. Good luck boys.
Bring on the new place, well very old school but a different attitude all around.
Mart.

you're never to old to take up a new job,
if the pay is better & the conditions are better then what have you got to lose?
a lot of places prefer the old skool knowledge as it shows you know what your doing, a lot of places are shipping out the old guard for as you put it "button pushers" as they can train them to how they want them so they won't think of jumping ship so to speak.
good luck with it

I am a toolmaker (not hammers and spaners) and I am very proud of it as well. Not many left I am sad to say.Jesus325iTouring wrote:What is your current occupation Mart?

Just before I had my hip done, ten mins before (I was not under general) I asked the guys where the joint was made and they said in Leeds which made me chuckle and fell asleep for most of it.

It is an old shop with a "proper" attitude to how things are done and to people as well.
No bull shit from them and I had the pleasure of meeting a machine from 25 years ago when I saw it brand new.
It was in bits but they had boxes of bits that were being put on today so they are putting money into the firm.
10 people max but the they had a massive radio , old school, blasting away without any probs.
Happy days !!
I have missed most of this year due to injury so this is a good start and the 330 ci sport is awsome.25 mpg so is worth that alone.lol.
