Ive done a couple.
As for parts price assuming you are talking about M20 engine....

Gearbox/linkage/selector £50
propshaft £20
Pedal box £25
Clutch pipe £5
Flywheel £15
(all available from me )
Maybe a couple of other little bits ive forgot but essentially thats it parts wise.

DIY time is easyilly a good weekends graft.
No idea what a garage would charge?

Dont forget to short the crank thingy in the car loom that prevents you from trying to start the car in gear (on the car loom of the autos)...

I have also done this job, and what an arse of a job you also need gearbox mouting plate and rubber mounts as auto is totaly different, have fun!!!! i didnt

ive done it a the only thing that was a pain is changing the pedal box not because its hard its just lack of room.
