Hiya dude, firstly welcome to the zone
I can only give you advice from my own personal experience, if its deep
and wont T-cut out it'll need a re-spray. Normally if you get a scratch its
only the laquer thats gets scratched and this will polish out, if its deep youll find its got to the paint underneath.
This happened to my bonnet and it cost me Ԛ£120 to get it sorted, shop around and get some quotes, ive just had my rear arches replaced and
saved myself Ԛ£200 by getting quotes, cash jobs ect.....
Hope this helps and you get it sorted.
I may be totally wrong and one of the more experienced guys will put you right

Hi mikw, welcome to the zone,as naylor said normally if there deep there isnt much you can do with them apart from painting the panel, unless you're very deft with a fine paintbrush and some paint then might be able to disguise them just for now

T-cut is a bit pants tbh, it just kinda moves the dirty round the paintwork

Is that the Farecla stuff? I tried the G6 (rapid grade paste) on a bit of pink/oxidised paint work with bugger all result. It couldn't even cut through the polish! Is there a technique in this?Jhonno wrote:what you want is some G3/G6
mikw - I doubt if you can remove deep scratches with cutting compound.
Cheers.

Thanks for the tips lads, might go the re-spray route and see if I can get a decent price on it.

G6 is for final machine polishing you need to use G3 and here's a tip spray a little water on to the surface first this stops the mop gumming up..notsofast wrote:I tried the G6 with bugger all result.Jhonno wrote:what you want is some G3/G6

I bet no amount of polishing will get this SCRATCH out

Bloody kids threw paintstripper or brake fluid over it one night, no idea why

Thanks for the tip, bullitt. Will get some G3. That G6 is meant to be rapid grade (whatever that means) but geez it nearly gave me hernia with all that hard rubbing .....
Fozzymonster - I love kids but I can't eat them whole
