...remembering of course that jacking from the diff or rear beam centre is a bad idea, unless you're actually trying to screw the beam mounting and diff mount bushes!
i use a trolley jack on the plates over the beam bushes themselves as it can't slip off due to the stud sitting in the cup on the jack (if it has one).

that said, jacking from the sump is really really silly and is best avoided!!!! :D

i once tried fitting a sound system, head unit, amps etc, when i finally turned it on there was a loud bang some smoke then flames and after about 40mins, no car.

it was a ford orion, so a silver lining to every dark cloud.

dont do electrics anymore :D

lol, too bad ey. Come to think of it, I was trying to sort out the Fuel Gauge on my clocks, some how managed to plug in one of the plug adapter things into the clocks the wrong way round, turned key in the ignition to test the clocks to see if they worked, ended with A smoke filled cluster, definately not an OEM spec option lol.

When I was dismantling my rear bumper on my new tech1 the other day I got fecked off and had to bash the nuts/bolts off. In my moment of fury I accidentally took 2 huge chips out of my rear skirt :x

Make you feel any better spook?

Well at least it wasn't a 'jacking point' you would of seen day light from in the car.

If it makes you feel any better, I've seen someone at college bend a wishbone after jacking up on one 8O
