This is the first winter that I have owned a convertible. My 1988 325i is used every day and has to stand outside every night. Condensation and water ingress is a bit of a problem and I was wondering what the best advice is about trying to get a black hardtop. Not sure who could source one for me or how much I would need to pay. Anyone able to help please ?
Cheers.

anywhere from £500 to £1k..there are 2 types ..the original and the Weisman ..and there is on of each on the bay at the moment

http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search. ... 30+hardtop
and there is this one

colour coding an original is expensive (not the paint the prep work) so it will fetch more cash

hard top prices have gone silly they started off at around £400 then as soon as winter hit they went as high as £1300 there are normally quite a few advertised on the zone and ebay so just keep your eyes peeled mate :D

If you don't mind the drive you could maybe get one from ebay in Germany.
I got a minter ( in January 2 years ago ) for about 350 quid. Cost about 100 quid to hire a van, incl fuel, to pick it up.

You should also make sure your soft top is treated before winter ... give it a clean and then a good coat of weatherproofer - makes a huge difference.

Anyone know which is the best weatherproofer to use? My cab has a new hood and I want to keep it nice!
