No seats if you're going to bolt harnesses through the back bulkhead. But you really must do somthing, ie fire extinguisher, relocated battery box, racing fuel cell, otherwise it'll look a bit silly/ unnessicary. But then no one will be able to use the back seats any way if you have harnesses, I'm assuming your car has a rollcage and is going to be used for racing?

In that case buy a leather interior, and live in luxuary
People will think you are a wannabe racer if you have buckets and no back seats on a road car.

I have 1 Sparco Pro 2000 seat and 1 Recaro sport seat in my 2 door 323i and I have a clip in harness that I only put in when I am racing.

If you have a 2 door, use fixed buckets, and want to use the back seat you have to have a proper base frame bit that tilts forward to let people in and out of the back on both sides. I think the M3 CSL has these. The non fixed buckets are ok though because they still fold up.
The recaro seats would be fine for road use, not quite enough on the track, but I had no problems with them on the road. Very tight on the sides and hold me in well, and I am not very big either.
The harness mounting points are on the rear parcel shelf, on the floor next to the seat, and on the floor under the front of the seat. Get a proffesional to put them in, unless you really know what you are doing, because they have to be at the right angles for the harness to work properly. The harness just clips onto the mounting points, it is FIA approved.
I still have my backseat because unfortunately I have 2 friends
so I need 3 seats in total when we go places. I really should get that back to just 1, then I can get that Ferrari 430
.
If you want more pictures on info let me know.

As said, luxury, no point having a roll cage if your not gonna race, some nice black leather and your sorted!
