Yes, got to admit, E24 6 series look gooooood! - and they go like f**k. My mate has a 635CSi on an E plate he must sell, will sell 2 me for Ԛ£1800 with loads of history and 20 years MOTs, etc. NOT selling the 320i, cos I love it, but what about the 635? - I really want it, but are they loads of trouble?

Buy it at that price mate if its in good condition. Thin they vary in price so much because the one starting to look a bit rough cost so much to put right they aren't worth much.

They are indeed wonderful cars - if you get a good one.

Check the inner wings very carefully. Front wings are Ԛ£520 each + paint.

Front suspension bushes & joints can wear out at a hell of a rate & need to be in top condition - just like an E30 really.

The 12 valve engine lasts forever (one of the guys in our local club has an E28 with 313k miles on it. Mine only has 73k so there's a bit of life left in it.

The M635 engine is another matter - needs cam chain replacement at 100k or else. Other than that it's a very tough unit.

A poor example is a money pit as problems keep turning up. Good private 635's are now over Ԛ£7k. The best dealer cars like Munich Legends where I got mine are Ԛ£10k+. The M635's are a couple of grand more in each case.

Was this car in Washington? I'm not far away in North Tyneside.

Yes it was in Washington. it might be a 633csi, or more likely, a 635csi.

It's not a 633 - they were discontinued in 1980. The big bumpers point to it being an '87 on Highline like mine.

Can't see any M badges & it doesn't look as though it's got the arch extensions so it's probably a 635 CSi.

Looks in pretty good nick.
