Are the window surrounds (front and rear screens, chrome surrounds) replaceable?
If so how can i go about doing it and what do you think i need as the ones on mine have corroded nicely.

Yes they are. Its this part which secures the glass in the screen rubber. Still availibe new in chrome or black from the dealer and easy enough to replace.
To remove gentily prise out the short metal section at the base of the windcreen the ease out the chrome bead from arrounf the screen rubber.
Replacement is trickier but simple enough. There is a specific tool to do this job but i cant remember what its called, a screen fitter will know but you can use a thin flat blade screw driver to do it but be warned this way it is all to easy to slip and scratch paintwork in the surrounding areas. Which ever tool you use, plenty of lubrication is needed.
The rear screen is the same but the metal strips are located in the bottom corners.

A screw driver will ruin it - it'll leave nice creases in the chrome effect under the pastic, best off using that diamond shaped tool for the job.
Last time i bought a front windscreen surround in chrome from BMW, it had to be ordered from Germany and took 3 days, price wise it was £17.50 iirc.
And as mentioned - plenty of soapy water as well.
