Well, to start with me and my missis are fine, we werent actually in my car when it happened, it was in the car park to the cinema/restuarants etc.

Well we had just finished are meal as i took her out being her birthday and that  , only to see at the end of the car park 3 police cars,2 ambulances and a fire engine parked in front of my car.

I first thought how am i gona get my car out!

Got a little bit closer.................and closer, and then the fire truck moved away

It was then that i saw my car had been hit, the puegot next to mine was a right off!! And i feared the worst for mine.

When i got to my car, the 4x4 had bounced of the pug and hit mine on the passenger rear qtr panel completey smashing it in, lucky it missed the door and real wheel, so i was quite lucky tbh.

The sills are also fine and the pillar to the roof, my mint iS interior is also unmarked  Feeeeew, is how i felt.

The guy driving the 4x4 apprently had blacked out and hit 3 other parked cars before the pug stopped it against the wall!

Thankfully the side it hit, is the side with a dodgy rear arch which has bit of bubbling so thats all gona be replaced

It also pushed my car forward into the car scratching my spanking iS lip spoiler :(

But there are also scratches over the whole roof, bonnet and boot where the glass has shattered all over it.

I'll put up some pics tomorow, and ring the insurance company, im gona try and go for a full respray and get all body repairs done by a proper BMW garage.

It could of been worse tho.

Adam

I know thats what i keep't telling myslef when i saw it.

And the main thing is that no one was seriously injured, imaging if my g/f was getting in the car when that hit!!

I wouldnt even want to begin to imagine what it could of done.

So all is good, sort of.

ffs how unlucky can you be or lucky depending on how you look at it, at least you are both ok, now the fight will begin with the insurance not to right it off as there value of the car wont be the same as yours. good luck and one more thing,

Sorry to hear that dude. I was watching 5th Gear a couple of days ago and they did some trials on the damage 4x4's cause to other cars (Especially older cars) because of their high impact position. A car can always be repaired so at least walking away in tact is a good thing. Ho and you might get a new respray, some cash for a holiday and something for a new perm by moofles

sorry to hear a e30 has been damaged. most important thing is no injuries ( but then a bit of "whiplash" could have given you more money for a holiday :D ) and everyone safe.

hope it gets mended soon :D

adam

i feel for you. it's not the repair as much as the grief that will inevitably come with it.

let's be thankful that the 4x4 driver was in a car park and not steaming down the m6. let's keep fingers crossed that the 4x4 driver has their licence revoked permanently after this incident, although i doubt this will happen.

Thaks for your comments guys, im just hoping they dont try and right it off, and im going to try and get a full respray ass glass shattered over the whole car and the police man just sweeped it off with a broom

Here's some pics,

I hope the guy in the 4x4 was ok, although as he blacked out at the wheel i doubt he'll be able to drive again.

Im gona try and get as much body work done, rear alloy, rear bumber ,front splitter.

At the least that arch is going to have to be replaced and it was the only slightly scabby one on the car.

yeah doesnt look to bad - altho its not good! only a small area is affected

Fight it all the way re: writing it off as they will if the repair is over 66% of what they value the car at..

unless you can take the nice bits off the car n get a payout towards the 325i you wanted... might take a while of looking to find a clean one like yours tho

Yea, although when they asked me the value of the car for insurance i said, Ԛ£1300.

Do you think thats to low, and is that the max they'd give me if they were gona write it off?

because its not a agreed valuation its just a guide so they can work out the premium..

if they do start bein funny - show em the FBMWSH, the low miles, condition pre accident etc, thats the sort of thing that costs extra to find in another car if you see what i mean

Ԛ£1300 is the bottom of what i would say it's worth.. it looks v tidy etc

depends what you want dude - the car back and repaired with minty bits (something that'll cost to get done to another car) or just the nice parts to put on another

Well i just rang the insurance and told them what happened etc.

My excess is Ԛ£670, but they will claim that back off his insurance.

Its getting done at a BMW garage so thats good news, he said that becuase of the age and milage of the car, if the repiar bill is more than 60% of the cars value, then they can write it off!

I dont think im gona be able to get a full re-spray out of them, even tho theres scratches over the whole car

So the bill has to be Ԛ£780 or lower?? @ a BMW approved garage?? Looks like it will be the rear 1/4 panel and paint then...knowing manufacterer approved bodyshops then. :(

Mileage? Its only 91k isnt it?

So long as the repair is under Ԛ£900 (based on Ԛ£1500 value) you will keep it

Yea its just over 91k, im taking it to the body shop tomorow for them to look at, im not gona let them right off my baby, ive spent to much time ,money and effort on it!!!

But if they do right it off  , then im gona put the original seats back, take off the alloys and put steels on it, and remove the front iS splitter, gear knob, steering wheel, speakers.

How much off the car can i strip? I'll replace all the stuff i take out, but the exsaust is a half S/S scorpion one, and a dont have a std one laying about

Why did this happen to me :(

take everything you can replace with standard, n i would take the exhaust as well even tho you cant replace it - it wont effect the car bein able to roll...

I have seen cars written off for less, that looks a bit nasty:( Real shame, hopefully you will be able to have it sorted out though mate. I hate insurance companies, they just offered me Ԛ£1100 for my iS, no more, no less and I cant even buy it back ;/
