Where can they be got for a reasonable price?

I think the dealers quoted something like £17 each

Motorparts only have 4w which is pointless or 6w that dont fit in the hole :?

4W ones will only appear 10% less bright. Close enough, I would think.

I've tried standard 4W and in my Cab's main interior light (it uses the same bulb) and it's surprising how dim it actually seems. If it's the bulb I'm thinking of its almost like a 5w mini halogen (see below) which could explain the hign dealer prices. I then tried the 10W version and it all got a bit warm for my liking.

I got lucky down the breakers. Check out the e34 rear map lights and a lot of e34's had maps in the front as well. These all use the same 5w version (or at least the ones I found did).

Guys go down to your local motorfactors and ask for a 435 bulb.

These are the same bulbs that go in merc side lights, and the new audi's tts etc.

They are a halogen bulb, and this is why your struggling getting a normal bulb to do a halogens job..

Any bulb with a dimple on the top is a haogen one to my knowledge.

Trust me, was in the motor industry

Hope this helps.

Motor factors tell me a 435 bulb is 24v 21w, but they have a 434 which is listed for TT sidelights, very similar but too big.

Good find on the eBay bulbs, but there is no way im paying £5.50 for 1 bulb!!

A lot didn't, You need either a 530 or 535 OR a 735 e32.
