How to valuate an e30? any links anyone?

Hiya,

I am just wondering if anyone knows any websites that give example valuations of e30's?

Hopefully one day this site will have a list of guide prices, but i know the admin ppl are working their a**es off as it is.

I just dont want to undervaluate an e30 when i sell it, i wont get duped into paying more than one is worth cos i cant afford to!

Most valuation sites only go back to 1995.

Hannah, haven't looked myself but I know Parkers have a website that does value older cars, but you may have to pay a small subscription.

bottom line is that your car is worth what ever someone else is prepared to pay for it. If you advertise it in one of the BMW mags you could probably ask more than on the trader or your local rag.

Parkers will never give a true valuation, just as insurance companies will also undervalue every time.

Best place to go is here....give all the details of the car you can think of, and I'm pretty sure you'll get some good answers.

thanks for that, i may be tempted to pay up for that cos looks good, and least then i can be sure that im getting wot its worth.

The one i want to value is the one i dont wanna sell... so if the valuation is too high.. hopefully nobody will buy it!

If I were buying, I'd gleefully wave Parker's Guide (for older cars) in the seller's face because Parker's seems to think any E30 older than 1990 is worth no more than Ԛ£500, even in tip top condition. I used that trick when I bought mine. It works a treat unless the seller is an enthusiast and knows what his/her car is really worth.

Example: 1988 E 325i SE 125,000 miles - Private Good (good average condition, private sale) Ԛ£480; Franchised Dealer (showroom condition)Ԛ£825.

Obviously, you'll want to hide Parker's if you were selling!!

Seriously, the only way to keep tabs of market value of E30s is by browsing through ads in the rags and the for sale forum (and pose Qs here ). You get a pretty good idea that way.
