Hi all!

I took the rear quarter part of the kit off the Sport, and it isn't really bad, but it's not good. To fix up properly, it's gonna cost a fair bit.

The engine needs sorting, so that's gonna be a few hundred also. I would probably end up selling it, and I wouldn't wanna sell it without getting the arches done, if I'm doing the arches I'd wanna do the sills and all that, I'd love out moneywise in the end, and I can't actually afford to do it.

To break it, well I'd be gutted cos I love the car, but for the reasons above, it's tempting. I could boge the arches and get the engine sorted, but that's cheeky and I'd feel bad!

What to do?!

Sell it as it is for a profit, im sure you could double your money for doing nothing. Bet theres plenty of people who would have it on here.

If you were to sell it in current condition, how much would you be looking for? I'm on the lookout for a project sport, pref in red, but black would do
I will be turning it into a show car only!

It's really not that bad, it needs more money than I can afford spending on it.

I could make approching 2k breaking it for all the bits, I'd take less than that for the whole car obviously but not loads less. This is another reason I don't wanna sell it as it is because I don't wanna make a big profit from doing nothing. At least if I break it I'll mean I will have put some effort in.

I dunno. I hate to break a Sport..........

how come you've got such a strong concience? i have no doubt someone on here would give their right nut for the thing to save it. (e30's can attract excessive devotion and money from te right person) it would be a shame to break it. (unless the corrosion has really spread) any pics to see of the worst areas?

Would love to really mate.....

Nowhere to keep it, the touring is in the garage dead as well.

I was hoping to get the Sport fixed (engine) and sell the Civic to pay for it, but the Civic is such a good track day tool, that I'm tempted to keep it. And the rust under the kit has kind of made me think

Not sure yet anyway....

Hmm tough one mate. You could sell it with the problems its got and make quite a bit, to fund the touring!. Or you could drive it with a second hand lump in and just rag the absolute c*nt out of it.

Or break it and make a couple of grand. (I need a LSD...so thats already gone!)

If you can get good money for breaking it then do it! The extra could be well spent on the Touring!

Hi

I don't have Sport  (one day I will :D ) but they're getting harder to come by. If you sacrifice another one to the mighty BMW Breaker, that's one less in circulation and it would sure have been a good 'un given your dedication to 'em.

Of course, you know your situ. best. Do what you think is right. I admire your mindset with regards to profiteering. Top man.

don't break it!

sell it as is. if you're honest you'll make an honest, fair profit that's not ripping anybody off. Somebody will pay what they feel it's worth to them, if that happens to be more than you paid for it then so be it.

It's a tough call Dave, breaking it would get you more money but a lot of work and hassle,i think i'd sell it as it is to some one who would do it up.

why is every one soo eager to destroy it? dave , if u dont need the car now then shelve it, i mean it seriously.. coz u always regret it so why do it again?

if u can just shelve the sport for a 6 monther, and then do what u want to it, would also be good if u need anything for the tourer, but i wouldnt start takin off it as uԚ´ll just as soon start sellin off bits

keep the sport, and wait until u can sort it

and why isnt there anyone who can sort out a good friend a favor

A mate of mine is good friends with a lad who will do a Private Job on it....I could store it but the touring is dead too at the moment, and I'm skint......

I can't really have 3 cars..............

I'm not sure what to do.

Like I say, I'd hate to break it, cos essentially it's straight, it's done 130k but with FSH (BMW up to 102k!)

We'll see. I was just getting some ideas. :) Thanks Chaps!

Do whatever you think is right for yourself dave but if it were me id sell the civic(an ive had three in the past).Use the money on the sport and your touring.Fcuk it,my sport is going to need sill work in the future on one side anyway. These cars are old and ongoing in upkeep but their exclusivity is everything. If you break one,the exclusivity will only grow.I have a 97 323i coupe also and everyone say's to me that they would much prefer the sport.Id sell the e36 an drive a Ԛ£100 van if i had to to keep the sport.

I'll take it off your hands Dave, I need a new project now that I've finished Jim's 2.7

I think a sport (and especially a black one) would be an ideal project, I've always loved the diamond black ones. PM me if interested dude, I have the urge for a 3.2 M3 Evo conversion coming along!

you can't sell the jap crap dave!

i'm in a similar position, two half-baked bmws causin me grief and one small fun rice rocket that runs like clockwork. and zero money! i want to sell the mr2 to fund the 335 but then i'll end up with no transport when the next bit falls off the m535i!

sell it or fix it (my welding services are available!) but don't break it!

Most E30's will have rusty rear arhces and ugliness under the kit.

Ideal thing to do would be to find somewhere who will do a quailty job for not alot of money.

Speak to Ant, he knows a guy that does a superb job on e30's with these problems. I had both front jacking points sorted on my M3 for not alot of money at all!

Keep it mate, if the panels are nice then just spend a bit of money. it wont cost as much as you think if you shop around.

Are you sure the sills actually need doing?? If they are shagged then it need breaking to be honest as the ugly stuff will probably have spread into the floor.

If you can sort if for Ԛ£1000 then do it and enjoy it.
