ive been looking around at convertibles but it seems that you can get very late pre facelift chrome bumpers on late plates and tech 2 plastic bumpers with facelift rear lights on early plates. i personally prefer the facelift rear lights with tech 2 kit!

when did pre/post facelift start and cease production? :?

I think the convertables are a very mixed bag and so mix and match all over the place.

No set date. Mine is on a H and pre faclift. Seen H and maybe G as well on facelift.

I think that was for the engine rather than the body

C, D, E, F, most of the G's and some of the H were metal bumper cars (not all chrome, some were coulour coded or just dechrome cars)

A few G's, A lot of H's, all J, K and there were a few L regs were plastic bumper large rear light cars.

Motorsports were another matter.
All pre H reg cars were "tech 1" sports which were colour coded metal bumper cars.

most H reg "tech 2" motorsports were a bespoke shell that had the facelift front (so the tech 2 bumper and fogs fitted) but the early rear panel with the smaller lights but was fitted with the tech 2 plastic rear bumper.

All J and later motorsports were facelifted plastic bumper big rear light cars.

Aaaaaand, Breeaaath.

If I've got the above wrong then please feel free to correct me but thats as I see it simplistically.
