I am the proud owner of one of the very last of the E30 tourers FSH 1994 L reg Lux in maritius blue with eibach springs/red dot pads M3 sterring wheel ect.
It is a lovely car and Iam very attached to it.
My only issue is knowing that the M40 will chew up yet another cam in about 30-40000 miles it will also be due a new cat and lambra probe, also I want a few more horses and a bit more torque.
Ignoring my mechanics advice about more horses by a 325i tourer, I have purchased a top notch low mileage M42 complete lump, ECU, loom etc off Karan for the conversion.
I have also purchased a mint 318i FSH saloon with a knackered Cam.
I intend to drop in the M42 into the tourer take the touring engine out and drop in the saloon.
Every garage I have spoke to about doin the M42 conversion has said the same...WHY?? it will cost a lot and you will take away the originality and FSH from the car.
What would you do in my situation.
