Just had a run in my mates new e46 m3. Hmm 160mph in 5th wit another gear to go
. Surprisingly no speed limiter, dunno why that is. Still dont want one that much tho! That engine in an E30 would be VV Scary!

Its sooo quick revving, just sitting idleing if you jab the throttle it just snaps the revs up. Sounds ace too

not so much the engine but the fact that the e30 actually gives you feedback!the e46 is a great car as long as you only drive to get from A-B, pretty soulless IMORitchie wrote:Just had a run in my mates new e46 m3. however the m3 engine is a revvy monster! deserves a real car (e30)

Heard of lots of issues with the s54 engine, I think the US refer to it as the 'Time Bomb' it's only a matter of time before it blows up!
Mind you if you can afford an s54, then you can probably afford 2!

i've also heard that the limiters only work in top gear,( something to do with getting around the gentlemans agreement of the 155mph limit)

Julian use to run an E30 M3 engine but he sold the car and is now drifting in a skyliner. But he told me he was building a E36 M3 engine but not the evo as the 3ltr is smoother?Rearwheel_nick wrote:julian smith has a e46 m3 powered e30 as far as i know
