Bah, you don't need gas for MIG welding steel

I did those on mine with no gas at all.
(Jos waits for the welding experts to come and tell him to cut them out and redo them...)

Safer job than I did on my old 318,I fibre glassed mine up.
Mind I work with fibre glass a lot (not the kinda of crap they sell in Hellfrauds!) and TBH it's just as strong if done correctly

Mine did!
I made sure to sand the fibre glass smooth, then re undersealed and there was no way anyone could have noticed!
I would like to add though,I wouldn't do this on any major stuctrure points such as seat or seat belt mounting or suspension component mountings.
Would only do areas that would fail but don't really make much difference to anything.

not so little but still small SIP 130 Turbo, actually it belongs to a mate of mine.
I have a Kempii 1400 DC Inverter Welder with TIG attachment, still learning TIG but I can stick weld down to 1mm with it. Going to buy a proper TIG rig at some point, HF Start >> Scratch Starting..

Yeas mate, tried all the welders and they all work fine, need to get some more mig wire for the migs, and the welding rods I got with the arc have at some point gotten damp and don't work proper, they'll be put into action very soon on the Herald.
For a cheap welder try
www.frostrestorers.co.uk they usually have something on offer,I wouldn't bother with Hellfrauds, having said that you've got a special card now!

Excellent stuff

(<= note the welding goggles & highly accurate hair!)
I wouldn't normally go near halfrauds, but they decided they wanna give my huge discounts (more than 50% off in some cases!!) so they'll do!

I do feel "special" lol

Should always store rods in a dry place, the flux absorbs moisture from the air and makes it spit like hell. If you can't keep them dry best thing is to put them in the oven at 120C for 30mins or so to dry them out.
