Well not quite, my DIY smoked Bosch lamps!

Some in progress shots, just the other side to do now!

They look spot on Si.

I think that the only thing that makes them a little different from the Hellas is that the Hellas use a black adhesive to hold the lense on. You can see the light coloured adhesive on yours.

Apart from that minor thing, bloody good effort, best DIY ones I've seen yet!

Looking good SI,

Now for the sealant you need to take a trip to your local Nissan dealer and ask for Butly Rubber as its the same as what is used on stock bosch lamps and its black,

You drill four holes and then use something like milliput.

Simon,

Did you follow any guide? Or just give it a bash?

Did you put the lights in the oven to seperate the glass?

:)

No guide mate, I think it was me who guided everyone on here how to do them!

I used a heat gun to seperate them, main beam units were p1ss easy to seperate, the dipped beams units were a little more difficult!

dude been meaning to pick some up myself, but im sure it comes in a tube just like silicone but its heat resistant and its black. Its meant to be quite pricey tho. As soon as i go past a Nissan dealer i will pop in and order some, let you guys know what its like.

I bought the new ones and fitted them to the touring, but when I bought the M3 the headlight was smashed so I fitted the proper smoked tot he M3 and the touring has now got some broken headlamps, so these DIY smokes will be going on the touring!

Is this what you had from the Nissan dealers? If not where did you get it from? Any part numbers etc!?

I will do some templates for all, and Demlot I haven't forgotten about the skirts, I was thinking maybe I could bring them along to one of the big meets this year to save on the postage??

Giles, you have to drill 4 small holes in the back of the reflector, and as Demlot said above use some kind of sealant to seal the holes.
