E30 question.

Hi all.
I am new to BMWs and to E30s so can anyone tell me if a 1988 E30 325i two door will have rear seat belts? (need them for babyseat)

I am going to view one 2night and so is there anything to watch out for? i know its a very old car and it's not that expensive so i accept it will have some problems but is there anything big to watch out for?

I have an '88 2 door SE it has rear seat belt and a centre lap belt. The germans were way ahead of dagenham on this one in the '80's.

Look out for rust on the sills an jacking points and the rear arches etc...
The engines are strong for 200k+ if looked after the key point is the cambelt, if it has been done ok but if not factor in Ԛ£150 to get some one to do it for you, it's actually quite easy but with ankle biters I assume you don't have the time to do it your self.
A good service history is worth it's weight in gold, mine had this and drives like it too but the interior was shredded. If the engine is very tappety be careful, usually it is badly ajusted tappets and can be put right quite easily, a bit of tapping from the tappets and injectors is usual.
The drivers seats are usually worn out, this is normal ish, depends how good the one you are going too look at is.
Oh and check the central locking works mine's been a bitch to fix.

Can vouch for the engines, mine done 210,000k before i changed it and thats only becuase it was knocking when cold, but still pulled and still left newer cars for dead

If the Mrs pipes up about 2 doors instead of 4 tell her it's much safer as the whipper snappers can't undo a door that doesn't exist.

check in the rear arches open boot pull side carpet back if you see daylight leggit
also front turrets and sills at front and rear
jakking points and floors as some one always misses with jack
check all elec toys etc
