I wouldnt mind a set of more "flashy" wheels for my car. But I'm not sure if Borbet A's are too common or wouldnt suit my car all that well?
Advice please?

Get benjys. They have the flat centres, the older style centres look sh*t.

Then spray the centres matt black and the dish gloss black.

i must disagree here i hate the flat centres think they spoil the rims totally

but keep up the matt blackness mr munky

i thought a lot about doing my rims black with a polished lip but when someone photoshopped them for me they didnt look right so they are still silver at the mo winkeye

the only thing i dont really like with the A,s is that they always seem to look fairly small but 17s would spoil the ride

I will do them with black centres. oh yes. That is a pic on one of benjys ones.
I'm gonna make him a offer on them soon I think.

I think I would prefer some BBS splitties though :(
Although they do go for alot more money :?

If it were my decision I would keep the wheels you have or go for some 16" bbs rims deep dished. A set sold on ebay a while back. Not sure what stud fitments you can get They would look soooo class on your motor. Could cost a bit more but worth it.
I am keeping my eyes out for a set.

I wouldnt like 9s on the front. They'd look a bit silly IMO and couse all manner of rubbing issues surely?

you'll need the arches rolling for the 9's on the rear and I would imagine the same for the front if they were 9's, afaik the 7.5's go on with no issues.

I have planned for this. :D
Is there any need for the lip on the outer arch? Can it not just be removed/ cut away?

hmmm not sure tbh

i think id stick to rolling rather than grinding the entire lip off as this may make the centre of the arch a little flimsyier than you want

but i could be wrong

no need for it.

You can cut it away but the best option is to hammer it/roll it.

Most body shops will be able to do it for a few sheckles. Home done jobs tend to end up with cracked paint which leads to rust.

Dave Ben had a 60/40 cup kit on his car.
Even after the arches were rolled he had very little rubbing but this was eventually sorted and was put down to knackered rear suspension bushes.Once these were done they didnt rub,to my knowledge anyway.
Thinking about it though the pre facelift has higher rear arches so maybe not as much of a problem for you?

but if it is rolled up surely its impossible to clean in between the gap? surely this would lead to rust?

There is very little space with the BBS but I am running a huge tyre on the rear so I'm sure there will need to be some arch destruction. :?
