I have finally finished fitting the new front bumper to my convertible!
It took me a couple of weekends to spray, and rub down to the right finish, it took a lot of work but it was worth it

There wasn't much fiddling around to get it to fit, but the problem I had was getting the bits. When the bumper turned up there were no indicator even though it said they were supplied, there were smoked indicator covers though. The fog light kit I ordered (again from autovogue) when it turned up the loom was missing, it was sent to me but the connectors on it didn't match the fog light, so I had to make some up. Don't let this put you off using Autovogue though as the quality of the part was good and it fitted fairly well!

BTW, it was sprayed using Halfords paint match cans!!!

Parksie, Do you have the original bumper, or have you got a BM with bodykit already?

If you have the standard bumper, it needs the quarter sections cut off, mine had already been done as it had a kit before. Take the bumper off (I assume it's the same for chrome and plastic), and remove the bumper brackets, fit the new brackets, bumper back on and then put the AV3 on top.

I managed to get one side of the AV3 to fit perfectly with only cutting around the wheel arch, the other side needed some filing as it folds round the corner. otherwise it gets pushed out.

The other pain I had was the indicator housing, the smoked fronts didn't quite fit properly so I had to trim 8O the indicator glasses.

Not sure I like the bumper, but it looks like the fitting and paint match are very good! 8)

Hi Daz

It was April when i had mail from you re the Av3 front apron, well today i've finally fit it, i bit of a bugga but hey its on and looking good.

" 2 points you could probably help me with::

How did you secure the apron to the wing/lower valence, and what do you recommend for sticking the plastic mesh onto the center section.

hope you can help Steve P
