MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm - i sold my convertible and left the Zone for a while.Nice to have a little break for a couple of months and now i'm on here every so often - still gutted about the cabby but, it's sold to another Zoner who will look after her (i've all ready checked twice).
So, in summary - have a break for a while, try not to regreat your desitions and come back in a month or two.You don't have to own an E30 to be on here.

I felt that way about the E30 once, but cars are very horses for courses and for what it is i dont think the E30s my course! Its my 3rd one now and im near enough made up that i'll be moving on soon.
Zones a great place tho!

I've heard you can pick up the earlier higher-mileage ones for about Ԛ£5k now - as high mileage doesn't mean anything I thought that might be the plan.6potWil6pot wrote:E46! Id be lucky!

So if it's not an E30, E36 or E46, what it is you're planning?

Small, sporty and balanced, needs to fit in the garage so no BMW newer than an E30!
Something that will cost very little to run, even when serviced at a dealers, oh aircon and Black paintwork are a factor too.
Basically when you live in the suburbs and have only done 3k miles in 9 months of ownership, a 200bhp sledgehammer is largely irrelevant

an e30 to a 206. i don't see that lasting too long. one is built properly and the other is a french coke can on wheels. if you do get this 206 then 1) don't expect any more reliability (although from reading your posts it sounds like you've not picked the best e30 for reliability) and 2) you'd better make damn sure you don't hit anything coz it'll crumple up like a wet cardboard box - legs and arms are well valuable and can cause a massive amount of pain.
all the 206s i've known have been problematic. one even had a porous block. another i can think of had constant electrical problems, enough that it should probably have had a fiat badge put on the back.
i suggest that if you want reliability then have a look at the jap hatches. boring granted - but boring means that they always go where you point them without ever complaining. for budget reliability thing sunny/almera, corolla and the like. they're cheap as chips once they've done their depreciating too.
