I've read that no E30 318is came with ABS or LSD. Is this true? I've just got mine and the dashboard brake light says 'ABS' when lit.

Don't know about LSD, though. Dumb question, how do you tell if there's LSD?

Cheers

LSD and ABS were options. pop your bonnet and look for an ABS sensor behind the front lights ( can't remember which side) sounds like u have it anyway.

LSD jack you car up one side at the back.

spin the wheel or try to.

If it spins it's an open diff

If it won't move it's an LSD

Thanks. The 318iS site I'd seen said that only USA cars came with ABS, and no iS got lsd. I thought they must at least have been options on UK cars.

What do you reckon they both add to value, though? I know the LSd is sought after.

The LSD should be a 4:10 (shouldnt it?! or is it a 3:64 ,always get confused for the is) but that should give you a couple fo hundred quid extra i would say. Thats if its not winning and sounding fcked!

The LSD would if it was a proper small case 4.10 ration one. Most people retro fit a large case 4.10 which is 15kgs heavier. I don't think anyone on here has one or has seen one! thats how rare they are.

ABS in my book wouldn't add alot of value really, just a bonus!

Another thing that seems to divide opinion is the value added by leather. Personally, I always thought that leather was one of the best options. But that may be because mines got a bloody brilliant black leather recaro int!

I did see an E30 black leather interior go on Ebay for nearly Ԛ£500, though.

Leather will command a premium over cloth cars as most prefer leather. I like both, but i like the prestige it adds to your car!!!

I retro fitted black leather to my old 318iS, mine had black headlining too, does yours?

Yep, black headlining, which I love, so much better. But I thought black headlining came with all 318iSes...

I always got the impression that leather coupe interiors were often bought up by convertible owners to upgrade their soft tops.

I think the headlining colour is dependant on the exterior/interior colour combinations that were originally specced.

The iS i've seen with a beige headlining was sterling silver with the blue tartan seats.

Mines a black headlining with the Anthracite tartan.

Mine is Sterling Silver and had the Blue / Indigo check sports seats and a light colour headlining... nice. It also came with a standard 4-spoke steering wheel. I did buy it from a 'non too genuine' friend from Bradfod though... enough said.

Not anymore though... no interior (apart from front seats) at all anymore!

Mine also didn't come with LSD or ABS...
