Fairly unique hard top. The sunroof makes it almost 100% definate to be Shaz's. I hope you find them and get to exact some retribution, although I wouldn't hold out hope!

Are they fairly easy to steal?

I wouldn't be surprised if the stupid c00ntz tried to flog it on eBay or Gumtree. Hope you find them and at the very least get it back.

****s. Not the first time this has been reported recently either. Sounds like there's a relatively decent chance of tracking this one down though - hope they get what's coming to them

I've been pretty much put off getting one - the increased security's hardly an attraction anymore... :(

Feel for you, Shaz. If it happened to me I'd loose the plot.

Hope the zoners can track it down and get it back for you.

Surely the siren had a battery in it so if it was cut it would still keep going off?

Or is that a thatcham 1 thing?

Anyone intent on harming car thieves should put a tempting bag of white powder in the glove box, just make sure its some kind of vets poison. Guaruntee the thief will have his nose in it double quick. :x

Shaz, mate I really feel for you. This too has happen to me on the misses (318 Motorsport design edition) the only problem with mine was that it was the standard hardtop, and there are load of people selling them so it would be impossible to track mine down. So I may have to go back to Germany for another one.

As for yours bruv, it very very rare to find another like yours (It possible the only one in the country).. So lets hope you get it back really soon.

Trust me I know how it feels to have your pride and joy harmed like that. Its gutt wrenching.

Regards

Car alarms are becoming less of necessity in the eyes of insurers as people pay no attention to a car alarm any more. So Shaz's comment is spot on.

To take that one step futher, in self defence classes in New York, if women are attacked, they're told not to shout rape, but to shout fire, as more people will pay attention!!!

Shaz: sorry to hear this mate :(

Your roof was truly unique.

Mine was stolen on Christmas Eve and it was an OE one, but in blue to match my car. Like you, the car was alarmed etc. They also stole the stereo and stuff from the glove box.

An alarm will not stop a car thief! Thats why my alarm is never on when my sport is parked up over winter, mainly because it drains the battery and if a theif wants it, they will take it, simple as that!!

Although i do have a cctv camera pointing at the garage 24/7, which is the dogs bollox!!!!

Sorry to hear about this shaz, I have a feeling you will get this back....

Hmm, maybe we should put are head together and find away of 'locking' it to the car to stop this from happening. Or fit it with a tracker.

bad luck Mate - feel for you. Its so irritating when you've worked hard and someone else just takes it coz they want it. C****s!

I wonder if it was stolen to order, if so it will never come-up on E-bay etc.

Hope you get lucky.

well put it this way guys,IF i see anyone driving around with a hardtop(any colour)with a hardtop with a electric sunroof, you can bet that I WILL BE STOPPING and taking my hardtop regardless if the person has bought it from someone else!

my one was an OE hardtop with a electric sunroof,i DROVE to germany in my cab to collect this in person,so lets just hope so i get it back.

and as some of you guys are saying,we should put our heads together and think of a way to lock these hardtops in so it doesnt make it so obvious and easy to steal.

thanks again guys!

Shaz I'm with you on this, I've not got another £600+ for some "Scroat" to take off me.
Looks like I'm gonna be going back to Germany at some point this year to try and get another one.

The thing is the insurance company don't see it as a replacement item as the car is a soft top Vert. So they wont replace it as its not the soft top also these things cost as much as half the value of the car itself.
I've got the same problem with my E36 328I sport Vert. But that spends most of its life lock away in the garage.

Angway I really hope you get it back very soon.

Regards
