I've fallen in love with these cars recently but i cant find the one i want (need) to buy.

Basically i want a 325i (Sport/SE/or other) Saloon but cant find one on a J or K plate for love nor money.

Reason i need one of these is that i have a private plate that means a lot to me and as it is a J Reg, this is really limiting the age of car i can go for.

Can you get saloons at this age as so far i have only seen cabbys (love them but cant get insured at 20)

If it comes down to it i'm just going to have to put the plate on retention but i want to avoid this if possible

There are some J plates about but not many - you'll have to keep looking.

There is apparently a K plate Sport somewhere.

Good luck!

needle in a haystack.

as for the k plater well ur looking for cars that were never registered till well after production ceased.

U may as well search for Rocking Horse Sh*t cos thatd be easier to locate

Autotrader....

Just did a search for 1991 Bmw 3 series.

The top one is a J plate.

You'll be very lucky to find a K plate saloon!

Be even luckier if the owner wanted to sell!

hey i once seen an estriol blue L reg e30 for sale on autotrader about a year ago, an it was a saloon not a touring. hey what about that e30 m3 that was for sale a few weeks back? still germany i think? only done about 36km(practically delivery miles), never been registered, think it was for sale at about Ԛ£25,000, if anyone was to bring that to the u.k then they could register that on a 2005 plate right? now that would be somthing? 20 years from now when all the common e36 and e46 m3's have depreciated into the ground that car will still be worth serious money?

Cheers for the info, i'm going to have to search real hard by the looks of things, but like i said i've got around 6 months to find one. Just wish i had a bit more patience!

If it comes down to it i might get a 320i cabby instead as i've seen a few of those on J-plates and can get insured pretty reasonably.

In fact this one on ebay seems alright:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 10589&rd=1

Only thing is i'm not really keen on driving autos. How hard/expensive is it to convert an auto to a manual box?

Oh, and davetouring that one on autotrader could be a late H-plate

That does have the switchable auto though... my dads sport used to have that and it was pretty fun. Plus that looks like a nice car as well.!

Find him for me and i'll pay good money!!

To be fair if i did find one i'd end up keeping it for ages.

One thing with the cabby's how reliable are the old power hoods as i hear they can be around Ԛ£3k to fix 8O

Would i be better of with a manual hood, or find a power one and if anything does go wrong, just convert it to manual?
