Our keys have a little light in them, a fine idea, very useful when trying to avoid scratches all round the lock in the dark..
BUT, they're entirely useless, light up a spot about the size of the lock, an inch away from the key.
I was looking at one of those little LED torches you can buy, the ones that fit on a keyring and are incredibly bright for their size.
It got me thinking, they use a simple switch, battery and led to work, which in theory would fit nicely into one of our keys.
So I bought one, butchered my key, and entirely failed to make it fit.
Has anyone else done it? is there one of these torches that uses a battery that will fit in our keys or should I just persevere with my weird idea and make the one I have already fit?

It was just the size of the battery that was puzzling me. The one I have is too wide so I had to cut the key a bit to make it fit... and now it doesnt go back together..
Can you buy new keys from bmw? Or should I get the super duper glue out?

Do your beer goggles not let you see in the dark?

I think the best use for the LED converted key is when you ask someone to tell you what colour it is!
They look puzzled for a while and look intensly at the key and say... its black. then you zap em and burn their eyes out.
