I have decided that silver is my favourite cabby colour. Which is lucky coz mine is silver. However from certain angles my car looks a little short and fat. This has been much worse since i took off the too low profiles it came with and fitted 205/55s on the 15"BBSs. They fill out the aches a little better but look like balloons.

I guess I'm wondering what can be done - is the fact the sill on my car is painted black and attempt to hide dumpyness? Is there a discreet body kit that wll help? lowering? tyres? 16" wheels? Body coloured sills? (I dread to start this again but...) chrome bumers?

Any ideas greatfully recieved!

This is my 318i Lux ....... http://e30owners.com/forums/attachment. ... 1175015390

I dont think it looks dumpy, but I'm biased. Mine has standard suspension etc nothing has been altered since 1993 :D . If you think yours looks dumpy then look at it from another angle. The E30 is perfection, thats why they are in the top 10 iconic cars ever !

I think the fatter sills on a cab are your problem - get an M-tech bodykit.

eh? Where did you get that from? The E30 is many things, but not iconic.

I think the E30 is one of the sleekest cabbies ever made. Certainly doesn't look DUMPY, it must be your imagination.

Not only is my cab 'dumpy' it makes my arse look big!!

The e30 is a beautifully proportioned cab with presence. The roof stowage ha a minimal impact on the lines of the car. Scuttle shake is also next to nil.

Here's a short list of proper 'dumpy' cabs

Vauxhall Astra, Vauxhall Tigra, Ford Focus thingy, VW Eos, VW Beetle The new mini, old renault 21's (IIRC), renault meganes, saab 93, 206cc, 207cc, 307cc..
