Hello
I am just about to swap my 1999 v6 Omega for a 1990 325i sport.
The reason for this is that the Omega is rubbish and I have wanted
an E30 for many years. The 325 has 124,000 miles some minor rust
but other than that its a very nice car.The actual reason for this post is
that the car requires an idle control valve and I was wondering if there was anybody in the Croydon or Surrey area that had a decent 2nd hand one for sale it would be greatly appreciated.

I have one which I can post to you.

What symptoms have lead to this diagnosis?

Is the one on the car 'L' or 'T' shaped?

Good swap you are doing there.

Make sure the rust isn't underneath the car, and check under the kit if possible? Check the jacking points too!

Hope it's a goodun. Get some pictures up!

Its a T shape one.
Not sure of the symptoms its a friends car and he is a mechanic
he just told me that it needs one.He doesn't want to get rid but I
have nagged him into submission and he has someone to buy the Omega.
The rust is just slight on the rear arches I have had it checked out
and its not serious.

Good stuff. Rust can hide behind the kit, it retains water unfortunately.

I will be able to send you an ICV on the weekend of the 5th of Feb. If you need one before then, post an ad for one in the wanted section.

Hope you enjoy the Sport.

I'll 2nd that, the guy who has done a few bits of bodywork for me has a customer who drives an Omega (Elite i think, the top of the range one whatever). He is a crap driver and always damaging it.
My mate was telling me the prices of some of the parts, christ, talk about pricey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

His bills are always big, which normally include headlights and bumper bits if they cant be repaire.

But as you say,a great cruiser though.

I worked at Vauxhall parts department in my gap year, man Omega stuff was pricey.

Wing mirror was 260(ish) plus spraying for example.

That's crazy!

Having coded keys cut for new vauxhalls is rediculous. So expensive. You're talking up to 100 pounds depending on model etc.

Nice to drive though!

You guys have convinced me that I am doing the right thing.
I have loved the E30 since I was a kid wich was a while ago and when
I saw this sport I just thought I'm having that so I convinced my mate that
the Omega would be better for carting his wife and kids about.
I collect the car tomorrow and I can honestly say I am buzzing i can't wait.
Thanks all.

Well I've had the car 24hrs now and although its not perferct
I can't get this stupid grin off my face.
What on earth was I thinking driving around in that Omega.
The only problem is the car getting a lot of attention and I'm not
really used to strangers coming up to me and telling me how nice
my car is.
Is this something you get used to with time?

No I don't wanna get used to it I would happily live without the
attention but not without the car.
I'm not from the area I just moved there its very nice and so is
Lingfield.
