A Day in the Life of a BMW driver.
The other day I was cruising along as usual in my BMW coming onto one of
my motorways, which was very busy with inferior cars.
First off, I couldn't believe that the volume of traffic DIDN'T slow down
for me AT ALL as I came off the slip road! I had to squeeze into a barely
big enough gap between two cars in order to get onto my motorway! (The
driver of the car behind me did realise his mistake though and honked an
apology to me with a long blast of his horn.)
Unbelievably, I had to do the same again before I could get to the BMW
lane. (Why do underlings use this lane? Surely everyone knows it is for BMW drivers only?)
Anyway, once I was in the BMW lane and posing along at 110mph enjoying the adulation that the inferior car drivers were giving me, I noticed an
inferior car ahead of me which was not only in the BMW lane of my motorway, but was driving at a ridiculous 70 mph! Naturally, I got to within a foot or so of his rear bumper and flashed my headlights to remind him he shouldn't be in the BMW lane of my motorway and to get out of my way.
Of course, once he realized it was a BMW behind him, he did just that, but
I could hardly believe it when he pulled straight back out behind me! He
also tried to keep up with me and when he realized I would out-run him, he
put on some blue lights in his front grill and urged me to get onto the hard
shoulder so that he could congratulate me on my excellent car. Needless to say, I was eager to oblige and when we had stopped, the man gave me a piece of paper confirming what I already knew - that my car goes fast!
Apparently he wants everyone to know what a superior car I have, so I had
to take my driver's licence to a Police Station to be sent away to have some
points put on! (They're not free points either - they're £20 each and I was
only allowed 3.) But the man at the Police Station said that because I drive
a BMW, it won't be much longer before I earn the full 12 points, and then I
won't even NEED a driving licence, so they will take it off me!
Now THAT's the sort of respect you get when you buy and drive a BMW!

not only do you get each point for £20 but you also usually get the added bonus of a 15% insurance premium hike for every 3 you get with another 25% on top if you reach the magic 12 and get awarded with several months of driving holiday. the police around my way obviously dont hold bmw's in the same high regard as down your way as when they caught me racing with a 5 series the other week all i got was a talking to and sent on my way with no points at all.they must have run out of them that day and had none left to award me for my excellant driving skills
I once drove sooo fast that they stopped me driving for a month - I suppose to let the other cars catch up!

I quite frequently have friendly visits from our fellow stripey e30 lovers... usually when im parking up, the first question is always "Is this your car sir?" It's like they cant believe such a young and innocent looking person can own such an astounding car. Many questions follow this, and then, inevitably, they check my breath for alcohol with their traffic light warning system thingy... I can only assume they do this to see if im drunk as im actually daring to take it out and risk getting a scratch on it. Not had any points from them though... maybe i need to impress them a little more

Astonishingly, they actually *gave* me something called a 'producer' for driving the wrong way up a one-way steet in my home town. Even more incredibly, when I spotted one of their patrol vehicles doing the exact same thing, in the same stretch of road one evening and promptly phoned 999 to report it, I was informed I would have to pay another visit to the local cop-shop to furnish them with more details...

did u kno u get 6 points and you have to pay £200 for them for having no insurance.
i lernt this the hard way last week
Worse thing is,you would have been better off having a big fine.
I was only fined £150,but since it happened my insurance sky rocketted, the lower the fine, the higher the premium,I would have been better off to have been fined a grand, than pay continual high insurance.
My points has now come of my licence (although topped back up with 3 more!) a couple of months ago, taught me to keep an eye on renewal timw,I went 2 weeks over without realising and got pulled.........you know the rest......

X5 V8 for thrills, CRV for chills, Range Rover P38 V8 for sooooo much aggravation...
Good stuff Scorpy.. but I thought we had two lanes for BMW's, the inside one for under and the outside one for over taking whilst we just nip in and out of the plebs middle lane from time to time.

Life begins at 40 ( to matter!)
yeh i know what you mean. but because i only had my lisence for 7 months i gotta wait to know weather i gotta take my test agen, which means more money on top of my fine and points. i dont think garages appreciate points on your lisence when you go for an interview eitherslik wrote:
