Has any one drove a car with one fitted
It weighs 8lb compared to the standard 18lb

The engine has also got a set of shrick 284's

it will be good.

when i was building my 335i i ran the engine in the car with just the automatic ring gear on the end of the crank (it's the same shape as a flywheel but its only purpose is to connect the starter to the crank, the torque convertor provides the flywheel effect)

only weighs about 1 or 2kg compared to 12kg for the manual flywheel, and that's 12 + whatever a 3.5 clutch weighs

and yeah it ran like a bloody bike, actually idled ok if a bit lumpy, but the throttle response was terrifying and the revs just died almost instantly. what a noise!

hence about half an hour sitting in the car just blipping the throttle

It depends at what revs peak power is and how quickly the power drops off from then on,normally you would have the limiter cut in 300-500rpm after peak power.

All of the above is assuming that your engine can take that sort of rev's safely ?

Hopefully it should take a fair beating!

Phil Crouch From birds is building it!
Appaerntly he knows what hes doing!
Then a bloke called Jeff (started AMD) will be doing the remap
Cant wait

Maybe this time i will be able to run it in and drive it for a goo while before it goes bang 8O

Last time it only lasted from Gravesend kent to just north of the dartford tunnel!!

Be interesting to know what sort of red line to expect!

Im just getting over excited i havnt driven it in 7 months
and i had to look at it quite a bit!!

Can wait till i can do the lakeside run and ace's cafe and high beach and track days and take it to work with me and drive down to the south of spain in it with the bird!!!

Right im going to set up a tent out side the wo
rkshop!!!!
