This wont apply to most of you old gits out there!
But if your young not got much no claims bonus and your
cars 15years old Try HIC (Herts Insurance Consaultants)
im not a salesman of theres just a long serving satisfied
customer!

Im 23 ive got an E30 M3 1989 valued Ԛ£8000 (i'd hope  )
a speeding ban on my licence!

I choose the 3rd party fire and theft option because the car has been
tucked up in the garage for 7months which cast me a massive Ԛ£326
but if i want to upgrade to the fully comp package it woul have been
Ԛ£515!!

Can any of ya top this?

Only over thing is they asked me if i have another vehicle which i do!

Oh yeah one small thing!!
If you have got any no claims on the car you get it back to
use on another vehicle because the classic policy doesn't need or isn't affected by no claims bonus!
ALTHOUGH it does acru its own no claims bonus which you can have if you ever chage the policy!!

 I thihnk its madness!!!!!!!

Less than Ԛ£200 extra for fully comp....compared to the value of the car that's nothing!

It was in the garage at the back of my girlfriends house!!

The worst that could of happend was it was nicked or set alight!

So thats what i insured it for!! and saved myself Ԛ£200

When its back on the road i'll be changing to Fully Comp.

Will give them a call in the morning, and if your right about the claims free, I might just switch even thought I dont have to renew till November. would like to have fully comp for the same price. Many classic polocies are only valid if you it is you second car, do you think this is the case with this one? Cheers mate

Ooh! Last time I tried HIC they weren't all that competetive but my circumstances have changed so I cycle everywhere now meaning I don't do more than about 3 or 4k miles a year.

Wonder if my 20year old brown turbo barge would qualify as a classic. Hmmmm

I have a e36 318i and a fiat punto, ill just metion the punto say its my everyday transport, what other factors will make the insurance cheaper, im from manchester btw, does that just mess everything up, as we have high insurance premiums up here :(

Is it going to be very expensive insuring myself to my cab, will be awsome if i was on my own policy on my beemer!

Not finished yet, but getting there.

Just got to wire up the new ECU, fabricate the exhaust manifold and down pipe and make up the throttle bodies for it.

Bad news guys, I tried to get a quote today and the classic car polocies are only for if the car is your second car. The small print states you have to have another car fully insured for it to be valid. I suppose they recon your going to drive it less if it's your second car.
Bo Ho
They then gave me a quote of Ԛ£200 more than I now pay for TPFT on normal insurance.
