Can anyone tell me what the obc control box actually does?? Is it purely for the code function or does it play a part in the driving info' too?

No driving info, it has relays inside it. I think it controls the Gong and cuts power to the ECU, and cars with the Magnetic locks have blue boxes wich control the alarm system.

My gong works without it, so it must just be the other things you mentioned. Hopefully this means that my horribly inaccurate obc readings are due to having the incorrect code plug.
