Dramas! i got to work, just me and my foreman. The house we're building has a basement so we could work! but we went home. Thats where i got stuck about 500yards from my house! Typical i can drive a 50mile round trip and get stuck so close to home! but thats a good thing i think. So walked home to get one of my shovels to dig the old turd out. Got the car out, put my shovel away, quick snap of the royal occasion. This lady comes down in a chelsea tractor, mounts the kerb to get by, gets stuck and starts on at me about how stupid i am!

I kindly told her what i had been doing she said she didn't care as she had been to work and sent home and her daughter was locked out of the house! bloody cheeky tart. Some people have no clue. I told her if she had waited she wouldn't be stuck and about to hit my car and that she wouldn't indeed be home to open the door for precious!

I then got stuck again by moving out of the way for this fool as all 4 of her wheels were spinning and the car was falling onto mine!

Then i had to help the volvo infront of me aswell with my trusty shovel! As she also had an rwd estate with open diff wrongness. I never got stuck in my old sport with it's LSD. How i wanted one today!

It hammering it down here still :?

:jesus: i did some lovely drifts but thats how i got stuck in the first place!

I like the way you've attached that shovel to the back of the car, so you clear the road for everyone else as you go - such selfless dedication.

We had shitloads of snow last January ... I managed to drive the cab (with 60/40 kit) from the airport to home, about 17km. The good thing was it was fresh snow so the sump didn't have too many probs carving its way through it. Good fun sliding all over the place .. huge smiles etc etc.
But could I get the car up my drive ?? Nope. It has a very slight uphill gradient ... and I mean slight. So I had to get the girlfriend out of bed to help me push .. not verty happy going from a warm bed to 6 inches of snow.

That's the second time in so many years a tiny kerb has ruined my fun in the snow.

Simon,
Try living over here - what you have there is a mere "fine" coating of snow !!

Simon - you hero helping all those poor unfortunate folk with your trusty shovel!

Nobody is driving around the streets where I live as the gradients are very, very steep. It's just too dangerous and there's no way you are going to stop coming down some of the streets.

I've managed to get to work and it's still coming down here. It's going to be fun going home!

Simon... I'm glad you put a snow plough on the front of your car... lot of good it did though!

I know what you mean about the LSD being a god send... when I had my 320iS and I was in London, there was a freak snow storm that froze instantly... I think I was about the only one that made it out of London on the A1, although it was sideways mostly!

15 hours it took to get home that day! Luckily I had just filled the fuel tank, bought chocolate & coke and the Sugababes album to listen to! 8)

(it was a few years back... Sugababes were okay then)

Ha ha, 2 ton, fat tyres, 380bhp - try getting an 8 series to move on ice!!!!!!!!

Took about 15 minutes to do a 3 minute journey - and it was only that quick 'cos the main road inbetween was cleared!!!
Did have a snowman on the roof the whole way though!!! I'll put a pic up when i get a chance!!!

I was born in the North, lived in the South for 15 years, and am now in the Midlands.

This morning I couldn't work out whether I'd get stuck or not....
