My wipers are magic.
They've fixed themselves.
I draw your attention to THIS THREAD where I basically did the wiper motor clean up tech article, only to find this gave ANOTHER different problem...
Got in the car last night, as it started to rain slightly, thinking "God, this journey's going to be fun with the manual wipe problem" and Hey Presto, pressed the wiper stalk and the wiper arms parked themselves in the correct position at the end of the sweep... AND the intermittent is working again... Yay!
Good news... wonder how long it'll last like this before it reverts to it's broken ways....?
Giles.

Not much worse than wipers that don't work. But having wipers that work, nothing in the washer bottle and following a lorry on a mucky road now that is annoying.

Mine cured themselves in the same way. I was just contemplating a strip down ansd clean when they seemed to 'wear' themselves in.
