Hi

I'm looking at getting a touring only seen one so far and that was a bit of a dog.

Really I'm looking for one thats as good a poss. I'm willing to wait and take my time on this one.

This car.. Is on at £1995 and as its near my mum I'm going to see it next weekend.

Image

I've asked for some additional details and they are below.

Question is even if its as described with a really nice interior and not other rust apart from as mentioned is £1995 way to steep is a fairer price £1200?

They've only owned it a year and a bit and if theres not sign of recent spent I'll think hes trying it on with the price. If the car owes him big then maybe...

Anyway any advise appreciated.

BMW E30 325i Touring 1992
Details: Comprehensive service history file, comfort leather seats, cold air-con, heated front seats, rear head rests, good BBS 15" cross spoke alloys, central locking, electric sunroof, front windows and mirrors. PAS, rear dog guard/ luggage screen, 6 disc CD multichanger, now surplus to requirements, sad to see it go. Becoming a classic, great condition.

Price wanted: £1995 OVNO

1)The mileage is 169k miles.
2)I have MOT's going back to 1998
3)Service history is complete
4)9 previous owners
5) I bought it in June 2005
6) It has not been in any accident that I am aware of
7) Rust bubbling on the front passenger door and rear tailgate
8) The electrics work
9) Electric front and manual rear windows
10) MOT until September 8th, taxed til end of February

that looks a bit steep for such a high mileage but looks as if its in good condition aswith e30s now you buy on condition and not mileage

Aye.

He's got some more pics but will only send them if " I am a serious buyer"

Obviously not trying very hard to sell the car....

Reminds me of the ropey old saab my mate looked at ... the trade seller said we could only test drive it if we wanted to buy the car... idiot wouldnt even let us start it "unless your buying it otherwise your wasting my time etc etc" one owner but falling apart ...anyway..

2K seems a bit steep.
Admittedly it's a 325 with good spec, but I paid £770 for an L reg (94) 318i Touring, and E30 Mark has just bought his 318i Touring on a J reg for about the same price with Tech 2 body kit on it.
Currently slumming it in an E46 Touring

I nearly went to look at that, had an appointment for last Saturday but bought my red Touring instead. The guy seems pretty genuine when I spoke to him, sounds like a BMW enthusiast.

The only things that bothered me were 169k miles on the clock, and while heated leather & air con are lovely, it is a 15 year old car I just didn't want the grief of more things to go tits up. Plus I think its fairly overpriced and while he suggested he will move a bit I don't think you're going to turn up and pay £1500. Also, he is the 9th owner on the log book.

Also, it was a 400 mile round trip for me, and as I wasn't sure (plus didn't really want a silver car) I thought it was unfair to waste his time and mine, and £60 worth of juice to kick his tyres.

Would you buy a Ford, Vauxhall, Peugot, etc., with 10,000 miles on the clock?
This BMW engine has as much mileage left in it than any of the above would have, assuming some kind of maintenance in its life!

I fully appreciate that - I have owned BMW's before. But as a package I wasn't sold on it, so rather than turning up, kicking the tyres and wasting the blokes life like so many dickheads are happy to do, I didn't go. I then bought a car with 61k on the clock instead, with full documentation to back it up.

Two grand is way too much!

Mine (when finished) will have all of that minus the heated seats/aircon/multichanger. But it will have E36 leather seats, E36 steering rack, Mtec2 wheel, some nice 15" alloys, etc etc. 170k miles aswell. I'm hoping to get £1200 for it :)

But some people value originality more than mods. I think with a lot of cars like this, they are worth what someone is willing to pay for them. I'd have said £1200 sounds too cheap! Depending on the condition of course.

That's way overpriced. I saw that as it's local. I bought mine at 155k with full service history, same owner for 9 years for £800! There are loads about just wait.

Your right I've seen a few where people are asking quite high prices.

Plenty of mugs out there I guess.

It is nicely optioned apart from keep fit rear windows, all though most tourings of that age will have similar toys as they were being dumped for the E36.

With all things considered if it were mine id be asking around a grand for it but if the owner had his pants pulled down when he bought it thats why he's asking 2k for it.....
