hi ppl

the other day, i was unscrewing the panel on the drivers side underneath the steering wheel, you know them little studs that show the ECU.

anyway i slipped with the screwdriver :-x and sort of scratched a bit of the plastic interior near the main beam switches

i was wondering how do i remove this scratch? i dont think i can, can i? with it being plastic.

please help as the interior is MINT not a scratch or anything on it (apart from now)

use an iron and some siver foil folded a few times to act as a heat sink, and warm he plastic flat, but within reason.. or itԚ´ll look worse

uԚ´ll need a cigarette to homeplug adapt. to do it realy

wow johnono, i was thinking more along the lines of using a cloth and some t-cut for interior :P

i mean its not a deep scratch, just a quick slip of the screwdriver scratch, if you know what i mean?

i dont think ive got a cig-home adaptor but will look for one, if this is the only way itll come out :(

cheers.

i can imagine exactly the scratch u mean, starts light, then deeper for a centimeter or two, then drifts to the left and thins out ( or summin like that )

do the iron one, and press in the sides of the scar over the scratch.. itԚ´ll smooth out the line also, and wont be so obvious (to u anyway  )

Best thing to do is to use a paint stripper gun (looks like a hair dryer, but much hotter)

hold this about 6 inches from the scratch and GENTLY heat the plastic until it looks like it is starting to sweat.

Let it cool down and then hey presto it will be as good as new

Won't it be easier to buy a replacement panel off a scrapper? Unless it's part of the whole dash.

its part of the whole dash. i mean its not a major thing and wouldnt be worse buying a new panel as it isnt a visible as i make out (everyone knows about what you can see and someone else is totally different)

ill try the methods mentioned and see how i get on :)
