Sorry to p1$$ on your parade but you do realise they are illegal for use on the public highway?

Construction & Use regs state there can be NO symbols or marks in between the letters & numbers, probably in case it hinders number plate recognition systems.

If you're lucky you'll get a warning, if not you'll get a fixed penalty.

BTW, before people start posting messages of indignation about how the police should be catching murderers & rapists instead of persecuting innocent motorists remember, they don't make the law, they just enforce it (however ridiculous it may seem).

For anyone who wants to order some i got them from www.dubmeister.co.uk

Really good service. They cost £30 but including £5 postage and £5 for the stadt stickers it totalled £40. Which is expensive but i love them!

No bother mate, I know they aren't legal but i found this out from the other post i set up a while ago about it. Then again neither is going above 70 on a motorway but we all do it.lol. No offence taken though.

I'm sure its been said before, but I have had my German plates on my Motorsport (including a white rear plate), 100% illegal for nearly a year now and haven't been stopped or looked at once. Mine even have a dodgy layout too - H:191 DMD, where the colons are the stadt stickers. I think most traffic cops are too stupid to realise its not a German car, maybe they assume it was RHD import in Germany which is on holiday in England!

I think you'll find the average traffic cop is a lot smarter than you think. Just because they've turned a blind eye to your style "statement" doesn't mean they haven't noticed, just that they have more important things to do - for now.

I'm not PC (far from it) & whilst German style plates don't float my boat I can appreciate that to some they are the coolest thing since smoked indicator lenses.

However, the point I was making (which most seemed to have missed) was that there will be (according to my inside info) increased police attention due to the number of cameras with number plate recognition systems being installed. These will be used to check that you have valid insurance, tax & mot.

If there is any doubt the about the camera being able to read your plate then you will attract attention. That includes dirty plates, unusual fonts/backgrounds & "creative spacing" to make the plate read something.

The powers-that-be are not known for missing a revenue raising opportunity & when they decide to press the point all you style victims had better be ready - there'll be a crack-down coming your way soon.

i think what andy is trying to say is...

if you want these plates on your car, dont be upset and angry when you're busted for doing something you shouldnt be doing

you know they're illegal, so accept the concequences!

i still think they look the nuts, and i do wnat a set!!
