Was just wondering if any of you technical boys know off hand where the Peak torque is on a standard 320i? Any experience from people with power graphs or general knowledge required, at the moment i'm changing gear at about 5k RPM as it feels about there.

Thanks

Cant answer your question, only had me 320SE since lunch time today, but Ive noticed little need to rev much past 5k rpm either. 4,800-5200rpm seems the best time to up-change in mine

i can't tell you figures but about 5K is good, i know that the 2.5 i run is good untill about 5.5K maybe a bit more in 1st and 2nd but i never push it past there...no point. floor it and look to see when the rev counter needle starts to slow down...change just before then, so long as the new rev reading is still within the torque band of course.

Peak torque of 122 lb.ft is developed at 4,000 rpm, Peak power of 129 bhp is developed at 6,000 rpm.

I find that if I rev my old lady so that when I've changed gear the rev's drop to 3,500 rpm I get the best acceleration.
