Hi!

The 2.0 is gone, and the 2.5 is now at the heart of the beast!

Massive thanks to Karan, the legend, for his help which was invaluable, and the use of his engine crane, and the chain of justice, which was very helpful!

Thanks also to Andrew (demlot) for his help/guidance on the change.

Also to my mate Simon, the machine! Thanks!

Thanks to Jhonno for his help too!

All done in a day, just the exhaust to make 100% and it'll be sweeeet. (And the oil change/service :) )

I very much enjoyed the drive back to London with Karan, now having the power to dry-drift I'm a happy bunny. :D :D :D

Thanks again guys, couldn't have done it without you.

Pictures of engine change/hero damage to follow!

Yeah, now I've got more power I'll be more tempted to drift :?

Just have to keep it to the quieter areas!

We had a great sychronised drift on the way home, awesome!

Can't be swapping/selling the touring now, done SO much to it!

Thats quick work Dave .. impressive.

Just curious but ... what's the insurance like now on a "modified 320i"? Do insurance companies treat it as a 325i or a modded 320i?

Rog....I already go through a few tyres! Maybe it's my driving!

Glad we got it pretty much done.

Caesarbob...waiting for the insurance to get back to me re: this. I'll let you know, but I don't think it's gonna be good news! :)

Oh well.....it's good fun to have proper power, although being ravaged by Karans 2.7 was annoying  :D That is an animal.

We gotta make a vid!

I went to the specialists, they sorted the manifold!! Sweet. Gave me some bolts for the centre box, sorted that and a couple of other little problems. It's sorted now, runs nicely after the service too!

Happy 2.5 touringman.

I will get the pics up as soon as I can download them to a fast computer, I'm on f**king dial-up here, and it's so slow that it won't upload my pictures to photobucket without crashing  :)

You know that Arrington roundabout....It's dry today, and on the way home from Si's house earlier I took a diversion on the way home there, went round in the dry completely sideways twice, I looked out the O/S/R quarterlight to see a cloud of smoke coming off my car, as I drifted off the roundabout, the man in the DHL van who I had overtaken moments before didn't look happy!! I was loving it!!

Runs nicely now after that service. Glad it's running ok.

Really loving putting my foot down and having a decent wedge of power rather than having to cane it to move quickly.

Raced Gav325isport yesterday evening, and it's pretty level, he is slightly quicker, I put that down to me weighing about 30kgs more than him (!) and my car being a bit heavier!

A chip will be added soon, and maybe a BBTB.

In response to Caesarbobs question earlier, re: insurance.

They just called back, and want an extra Ԛ£65 so I agreed.

That's not too bad I don't think, although the policy finishes in June so thats about Ԛ£200 for the whole year.

I'm with elephant.

They are ok.....they classed it as a 325i Touring now rather than a modded 320.

I don't know what they'd do if you had a 2.5 M50 engine?! The specialist insurers such as Adrian Flux would probably be better for that kind of thing!
