I was wondering how many variations there are of this colour and maybe some illustrations of cars with this colour would be cool 8)

Just the one as far as I know. But I could be wrong.

Translates to Diamond Black, from German.

I've had two Sports but got no good online pictures! :(

They are not all the same colour by any means. There are so many sifferent shades of diamond metallic, you have to see them side by side to beleive it. Some are greyer/darker than others. Its not just fading either.

Strange ay :?

ok thanks for the pics and comments guys.I also think there are different kinds of this colour.Anyway it's cool as hell. The reason i was asking is cause my future cab (end of december) has this colour but it seems to differ from some of the pics i have seen here.

It all depends what paint company the paint comes from to how the shade looks as all of them use different tinters,The mixing scheme at work has about four variations If I can remenber I think there is a bluer shade a grayer shade a darker one and a sparklier one but I would have to check,I did my cab in the sparklier shade looked nice as hell.

Were are our resident E30 geeks, there must be code variations, BMW wouldn't do it so randomly as just on 'year'!

it's wierd see, my paint code is something like 203/9 now u would think that the number after the slash denotes the shade? but mine and buttplugs have the same codes on the turret. Now in my eyes *cough eye his and my car look different shades.

So i dunno Bert

Hi Spook, yep Teapot Row, well spotted. Don't live down there just thought it was good place to take a picture! Often in Southsea during the day though, I've got an office there. Usually nearer Port Solent. Other local members have met up on Portsdown Hill once before which worked well. Plenty of tea and burgers on tap! Failing that...anywhere local really. Name the time and place. Just a warning... I'm getting close to sixty but still a hooligan at heart!

should one be one colour if your paint code is 181 if your diamantschwatz mettalic has any other code then please let me know, i saw then mix mine here and there is a lot of pink :o: in there believe it or not.

Variations in colour will be from light/angle of viewing/fading paint or from the clear coat perhaps.

freshly painted in 181....

This Saturday OK with me. BBC says weather cloud/sunshine (damn I'll have to clean it). How about 1.30pm? If we start to get takers we'll have to move this to the Meets section/use pms. Any takers?
