How much is a really tidy, un-modified, top notch Sport worth? Low miles, FBMWSH, absolutely standard etc etc.??

Interested in the opinions on here!!

i wouldnt pay anymore than Ԛ£4000 for one, looking at that sort of money you can get a mint 320is.

There was a very nice Brilliant red one, totally standard with 42k on the clock that sold for a touch over 7k recently.

I'd pay 5k for the right car without hesitation, as they are few and far between.

Spot on that man good unmolested ones are rare indeed. I saw a tech1 with 40 k on it recently and told the guy not to take a penny under Ԛ£5000 for it. So there you go 4.5 to 6k nearer 6 by the time youve wasted all that fuel looking at the rubbish ones!

I saw a black sport tech2 for sale a couple of years back with only 10k up,advertised at Ԛ£10000  and from what i remember ,i seem to think it went quite quickly. There was also a 4k one in dolphin, but not sure what happened to that.......... there are still 1 or 2 very low milers around and as with most cars like these , they are worth what they are worth to the "right" people.

Yep,fully agree------took 10 months to find mine and generally found that most that had been advertised as "mint" were far from it and there was also quite a number i came across that had unfortunate history (as is to be expected with cars of this nature)so when you do find a truly good one it is worth the extra money IMO. :D

Having owned a mint Tech 2 Sport, I would without hesitation pay up to Ԛ£5,000 for a good one.

Mine was up for Ԛ£6250 at WLN and eventually sold for Ԛ£5750.

i had a pukka one which was spot on in every way but had well documented rust issues, like 99% of them and sold for Ԛ£3150 on the trader. U wouldn't find a better driving sport but the bodywork was killing it, and will be it's down fall.

My point is "low milege this and that" my one had 66,000 miles on it with history and it had issues like a sport with 164,000 miles. It drove very well but not aswell as it should and i bet i could pick holes in that brilliant red one with 42k on the clock.

No one listens because here in the UK we are obsessed about milege and it means nothing to me now, CONDITION is most important. F**k the history it's how it drives and how much rust is on it which counts now.

Your right i'd pay good money for a proper sport, but we are the few who would and finding a person like ourselves is hard. Plus 4 of us who have posted on this thread have owned nice sports, so reallly we are out of the market of potential buyers as we have been there and done it.

Know what your saying, but i think there are probably some people like me out there, who previously have been into other cars and after owning most of them, have looked into other makes and gained an interest in them ,if ya get me...............also i've found that some people had certain cars when they were new/near new and have gone out and bought another,in one case 25 years later! I regularly look thru classic and sportscar mag and am amazed by some obscure type of old car selling for mega bucks thats not even an exotic.......someone still loves them (enough to part with good money) but yes cars like these sell to enthusiasts only and to me thats great cos if everyone wanted one they wouldn't be special any more winkeye

There was a minter tech 1 at Santa Pod, no scratches, no rust, you could still feel the spot welds on the rear arches. Been in storage for god n=knows how long, 36k on the clock and the guy was open to offers. Had received some offers IRO Ԛ£6k. This was showroom, and having worked in one, I know what showroom is!!

Loverly car!!!!!

Oh I think I have a picture of it in "Nathan's Santa Pod pics" on the meets pics page. (Shameless plug!! lol) :D
