Hey guys & girls, just joined after buying my first E30 Tourer. Shes not very pretty (infact shes butt ugly!! :? ) but after having a shot of it I couldn't let it go to its certain death ...being scrapped!! So I paid the next to nothing price for it and drove it home.
The car has lead a hard life and the 200000 miles on the clock hasn't helped either. The only things it has got in its favour is that its still got 3 months MOT ,a solid enough body and it drives really well even though it is a high miler.

So over the next 3 months I'm planning on giving it a bottom half respray, servicing it and getting it ready for its next MOT. While I'm doing that I also wanted to fit some smoked headlights and tail lights. I've seen the headlights on other cars before but I can't remember ever seeing smoked tail lights. Where can I get the headlights from? and tail lights if available. I think the smoked light will look quite smart with the white paint work.

I want to do an oil change, but was thinking of using a thicker oil due to the milage is that a good idea and if so what grade should I go for?

Future mods will hopefully be a 2.5 motor but thats a long way off.

Thanks
Kev

Frist off welcome, congrats on the new(ish) e30.
I would highly recommend you spend the next 3 months giving the car a good once over maintenance wise before you start spending money on mods. As far as oil you guys have good oils in the UK so i would stick with a good 10-40w thick oils just put strain on things like the oil pump ( at 200000 you don't want the car working harder then it needs to). I have seen the lights on US ebay for like $180 or you could tint the rear lights your self if you take your time it can turn out great and last a long time.
Enjoy your e30
